Chris Brecher started his career as a floor trader on the CBOE in the early 1980’s. He started with $200 at age 26 and turned it into $23,000 in two years trading through a discount broker. He invested that money in a seat on the CBOE, where he traded for 96 (95 profitable) months from 1985 to 1993. Chris profited in the bull markets of 1982 and 1985 and successfully weathered the 1987 and 1989 crashes. Chris taught himself how to read charts, recognize correlations, manage risks and generally stay on the right side of a changing market.
In the 1990’s, Chris moved to a New York-based electronic trading firm where he modified his trading style to take advantage of technology. He developed the ability to recognize when the market necessitated a new style of trading in order to retain profitability. He developed a passion for training and mentoring other traders.
